You may have to work with manufacturer-provided descriptions as is – no problem. But of course, you won’t be optimizing your pages if you let that be.

9. Keep URL slugs as simple as possible

Alt-text must work for screen readers, voice assistants, and Google image search engines.
Make sure your alt-text descriptions are clear, easy to understand, and contain your target keyword. And remember to use hyphens to separate words on file names.
For example, changing the file name once an image is on Shopify would require deleting the existing file and re-uploading the right version, so it would be best to take care of this before uploading the visual assets.
We promise it’s a no-brainer.
Instead of something like a random IMG2023ABCD.webp, go with black-white-blue-mechanical-keyboard.webp.
Once you’re done with the file name, proceed to add the alt-text.
Here’s how: Go to Shopify admin > Online store > Pages OR Blog Posts, and then inside the content box, either double-click on an image or insert a new image to set the alt-text.
The length recommended is 125 characters or less.
11. Work on content marketing efforts
Let’s talk content.
